Home Visits
Requesting a home visit
Home visits should be requested before 10:00 if possible.
Home visits are time consuming; at least 3 patients could be seen in the surgery in the time taken for 1 home visit. Every effort should be made to come to the surgery. Lack of transport is not a reason to request a home visit. If in doubt about coming to surgery, please ask for advice.
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
Patients are responsible for using the home visit appropriately.
